![]() Each time we consider a project or program to support or develop, HEALCANADA is committed to generating a sustainable impact. ![]() Building on strong, established relationships with people and organizations working on the ground, we seek to identify the most pressing needs in the most vulnerable areas. Our aim is to recognize existing strengths of these vulnerable areas using 'appreciative inquiry' and then employ an integrated project concept of 'Provision, Prevention and ProAction' to develop effective strategies that make a sustainable impact and a real and lasting difference. PROVISION - To identify, with assistance from affiliate organizations, the greatest needs in the Great Lakes region of eastern Africa and address what should be done as immediate first steps. PREVENTION - To determine the factors that create these needs. Ask why they occur and what measures can be implemented to prevent the causes behind them. PROACTION - To go further and consider what pro-active measures can be undertaken to create a cultural shift to break the destructive cycles that plague African countries. |
